fantastic. Loads of open space to play with - with tons of natural light pouring in through the windows. There's a designated changing area for models/clients as well as a designated kitchen area. Half the studio has natural lighting and a factory setting and the other half has two areas set up for studio lights with backdrops. There is a vast array of useful props and furniture and the studio lights are fantastic. Jim, the owner, is also very helpful and approachable. Definitely recommended to other photographers!

Our team 2KS (me, Nicole Cooling, Eddie Cheng, and Ray Liu) hired Jim's studio for a mega event with 8 models. The studio gave photographers plenty of creative outlets, and the amount of natural light available was excellent. The studio also has had great beverage making facilities, and there was also an endless supply of cups - and Jim also cleared the bins regularly, something I don't see at a lot of studio. All in all, a great studio space run by a great chap!

Shot at Hallam mill yesterday and discovered it was a really positive space to work in with more kit than you could use and bags of that ever-lovin natural light. The studio has a tonne of possibilities, you'd be hard-put to exhaust them all. Jim's a top fella too, great host and happy to help. I'll make a beeline for the place when I'm next in the area. I have now used Jim's studio three times. Each time has has been better than before. The latest being a mega nude shoot event.
Lots of space, lots of character, lots of props, lots of options and the crown jewel of the studio is the absolutely fabulous natural daylight.
It's a creative photographer's dream playground. If a photographer cannot come away with something fantastic then he/she may as well give up and send for the funeral directors as he/she is brain dead.

An amazing space to work in - such versatility. The copious amounts of natural light, the textures of the floors and walls, the drama of the high windows... all the elements make for a fantastic shooting experience.

I have worked at Jims studio several times and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
A beautiful place... head and shoulders above most in the uk.
Jim makes every model feel welcome and comfortable and is great fun to work with too!

I worked at Jims studio TRUEDEFINITION yesterday an what an excellent day!Jim is a lovely man who looked after me, kept me warm fed and watered me and made sure I was okay.
I thorougly enjoyed it! Some great different sets available which made such a change! Fun day with some great photographers also! Hoping to go back very soon!! x

can I say what a cool set up the old warehouse
have a cool airie feel to it with cool props lots of room to work with!
Jim is a fun down to earth guy and leaves you to get on with your shoot!
You wouldnt even know he was their as the studio is soooooooooooooo big
Jims studio is far one of the best studios in UK!

its the first time i modelled for jim yesterday (28 sept 2010) at his new studio and i am blown away by the end results!
STUDIO is huge with plenty of natural lighing and is well located, very easy to find (just of main road) and i dont hav sat nav either!
large pivate dressing area for the model and plenty of coffee and biscuits on the go :)
i highly rec. jim to models who need to update their portfolio, photographers needing a regular base and for commercial work.
jim is a lovely guy and is very helpful. you will not be disappionted!

Highly recommended studio and definitely one of the best around North area.
I am really impressed with a space, quality, plenty of natural light comming through the massive windows and loads of excellent props to use in.
This studio has really loads of options to shoot in and create stunning images.
Perfect for big events/studio days/group shoots, etc.
All convenients there, lovely models changing room, big mirrors, nice and comfortable.
Also, Jim is fantastic host !
He is very well-organised, very helpful to all photographers and cares for models comfort a lot.
